Fannie Catherine Bodkin, 87, of Brandywine died July 19, 1992, at Oak Hill Nursing Center in Staunton, Virginia.
Mrs. Bodkin was born April 1, 1905, at Zigler and was a daughter of the late Isaac Perry and Lucy Vandevander.
She was a member of Cedar Grove Church of the Brethren at Brandywine.
She was married twice. Her first husband, Leland Teter, died April 27, 1924. Her second husband, Byron Bodkin, died March 27, 1975.
She is survived by three daughters, Erma Carter of Martinsburg, Elva Crouse of Dayton, Virginia, and Juanita Cowger of Baltimore, Maryland; four sons, Marlin R. Bodkin of Franklin, Billy S. Bodkin of Verona, Virginia, with whom she had lived the last four years; and Roy A. "Mickey" and Bobby G. Bodkin, both of Brandywine; five sisters, Bessie Lambert of Accomac, Virginia and Vergie Simmons, Dora Murphy, Nettie Moyers and Buanna Judy, all of Franklin; two brothers, Thomas and Harry Hartman, both of Franklin; 19 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Mrs. Bodkin was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles and Arthur Hartman, and four sisters, Retta Pennington, Gertrude Lambert, Martha Simmons and Mary Johnston.
The Revs. Harold Cullers and William Garber conducted the funeral at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Cedar Grove Church of the Brethren. Burial was in Pine Hill Cemetery in Brandywine by Basagic Funeral Home.
