W. Arthur Hartman, 88, of Route 4, Keyser, died December 16, 1990 in Hartland Nursing Home at Keyser.

Mr. Hartman was born at Franklin on January 23, 1902, and was a son of the late Isaac Perry and Lucy (Vandevander) Hartman. He was a member of the Brethren Church, and he had retired from WESTVACO approximately 20 years ago.

He is survived by his wife, Zena Simmons Hartman; two sons, William Hartman Jr. of McCool, Maryland; and Carl Hartman of New Creek; four daughters, Helen Imperio and Delores Shears, both of Keyser, Shirley Hyde of Ft. Ashby and Joyce Eversole of Swanton, Maryland; two brothers, Tom and Harry, both of Franklin; seven sisters, Bessie Lambert of Accomac, Virginia; Fannie Bodkin of Brandywine and Mary Johnston, Vergie Simmons, Dora Murphy, Nettie Moyers and Buanna Judy, all of Franklin; 15 grandchildren and 26 greatgrandchildren.

A funeral service was conducted Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. at the Boal-Warnick Funeral Home at Westernport, Maryland, by the Rev. John Groth, and interment was in Potomac Memorial Gardens at Keyser.
