Bessie Susan Hartman Lambert, 89, of Seaford, Delaware, died of an aneurysm Wednesday, June 30, 1993, in Harrison House Nursing Home, Georgetown, Delaware.

Mrs. Lambert was born September 28, 1903, at Smith Creek, the daughter of the late Isaac Perry and Lucy (Vandevander) Hartman. She was a homemaker and a member of Drummondtown Baptist Church, Accomac, Virginia.

On May 6, 1922, she married William Cain Lambert, who died in 1953. She is survived by one son, Richard C. Lambert of Parsonsburg, Maryland; three daughters, Virginia L. Mason of Seaford, Delaware; Ona L. Davenport and Dormeta P. Wessels, both of Accomac, Virginia; two brothers, Thomas and Harry Hartman, both of Franklin; four sisters, Vergie Simmons, Dora Murphy, Nettie Moyers and Buanna Judy, all of Franklin; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside services were conducted Friday, July 2, at 2:00 p.m. in Blades Cemetery, Seaford, Delaware. The Rev. John R. Hancock officiated.
