Elva Kathleen (Bodkin) Crouse, 82, of Dayton, Virginia, passed away on Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at her residence.
Mrs. Crouse was born on December 10, 1932 in West Virginia and was a daughter of the late Byron and Fannie Catherine (Hartman) Bodkin. Elva worked as an inspector for Ethan Allen for many years prior to her retirement. She was a member of Mt. Bethel Church of the Brethren. Mrs. Crouse also enjoyed quilting and painting.
On July 9, 1960 she married Frederick Donald Crouse who preceded her in death on October 15, 2011.
Mrs. Crouse is survived by her children, David Crouse and wife Jennifer of Mt. Crawford, Kathy Warren and husband Samuel of Mt. Crawford; siblings, Billy Bodkin and wife Lucy of Brandywine, WV, Juanita Cowger, and husband Harold of Baltimore, MD, Bobby Bodkin and wife Pat, of Brandywine, WV, Mickey Bodkin and wife Liz, of Brandywine, WV; and three grandchildren, Dustin Crawford, Alexandra Warren, Joshua Crouse. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Crouse was preceded in death by her brother and sister in law, Marlin and Carol Bodkin, and a sister, Erma Carter.
A graveside service will be held on Sunday May 10, 2015 at 1:30 PM at Pine Hill Cemetery in Brandywine with Pastor Marty Doss officiating. There will be a memorial service following the graveside at Mount Bethel Church of the Brethren, at 3 PM.
The family will receive friends on Saturday evening from 7 until 8 PM at the McMullen Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mount Bethel Church of the Brethren, 8550 Robinson Road, Dayton, VA 22821.
