ROSELLA J. ROUNDS — GRANTSVILLE — Rosella Jane Rounds, 89, of Grantsville, MD, died Thursday, August 30, 2012, at Goodwill Mennonite Home, Grantsville.

Born on May 11, 1923, in Garrett County, MD, she was a daughter of the late Harmon G. Broadwater and Harriett Catherine (Bittinger) Broadwater. In addition to her parents, she also was preceded in death by two husbands, Arthur C. Rounds Sr., on Oct. 19, 1992, and Edwin R. Yoder, on May 30, 2007; nine sisters, Minnie Broadwater, Dorothy Sutherland, Della Beeman, Flossie Beeman, Edith Long, Theresa Broadwater, Nellie Llewellyn, Myrtle Broadwater and Lillie Broadwater, and four brothers, Howard Broadwater, Grover Broadwater, Edward Broadwater and Herbert Broadwater.

Mrs. Rounds was a wife, mother and homemaker, devoted to raising her nine children. She loved to write poetry and would often quote scripture in times of challenge and discomfort. Ros-ella loved listening to old time gospel music. She enjoyed having flowers and she did a lot of canning produce from her vegetable gardens and sewed rugs. When asked, Rosella favorite things were God first, then her children. She attended the Dunkard Brethren Broadwater Chapel, Fairview Church, Oak Grove Mennonite Church, and most recently, Cherry Grove Brethren Church. She taught Sunday school for several years, taught Bible school and led singing in church.

Surviving are five sons, Arthur C. Rounds Jr., and wife Lois, Wilmer R. Rounds and wife Janet, Dale E. Rounds and wife Maude and Robert W. Rounds and wife Una, all of Grantsville, and Cecil C. Rounds and wife Karen, of Swanton; four daughters, Loretta C. Hummel and husband Ben, Dolores F. McKenzie and husband Junior and Donna K. Edwards, all of Frostburg, and Judy A. Savage and husband Lanny, of Mt. Airey; 26 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Thelma Bittinger Ickes, of Grantsville; one brother, Robert Broadwater, of Lonaconing, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Homes, P.A., 179 Miller St., Grantsville, on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be conducted in the funeral home on Saturday, Sept. 1, 2012, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Earl Yoder officiating.

Interment will be in the Grantsville Cemetery.
