LILLIE M. BROADWATER — WESTERNPORT — Lillie Myelisa Broadwater, 87, of Mill Run Road, Westernport, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, July 18, 2011.

Born June 26, 1924 in Garrett County, she was the daughter of the late Harmon Broadwater and Harriet (Bittinger) Broadwater. From a family of 16 children, Lillie was preceded in death by eight sisters and four brothers, Minnie Broadwater, Dorothy Sutherland, Della Beeman, Flossie Beeman, Edith Long, Theresa Broadwater, Nellie Llewellyn, Myrtle Broadwater, Howard Broadwater, Grover Broadwater, Edward Broadwater, and Herbert Broadwater.

She is survived by her husband, Edison C. Broadwater of Westernport; sons, Galen Broadwater and wife Diane of Barton. E. Darrell Broadwater and wife Carolyn of Westernport; and daughter, Darlene Scott and husband R. Brett of Cumberland; granddaughters, Linda Edwards and husband David of Westernport, Lorri Broadwater of Westernport; grandson, Michael Broadwater and wife Vicky of Arnold; and great-grandchildren, Andy Edwards, Greg Edwards, and Thomas Broadwater. She is also survived by sisters, Rosella Rounds Yoder of Grantsville, Thelma Bittinger Ickes of Salisbury; a brother, Robert Broadwater of Lonaconing; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Lillie was a homemaker and devoted to raising her family. She was raised in the Dunkard Brethren Broadwater Chapel, Savage River Road, Garrett County. She later attended and was a member of the Mill Run Grace Brethren Church, Westernport, where she sang in the choir, served on the Women's Missionary Council, and taught Sunday School for 22 years.

The family will receive friends at the Boal Memorial Chapel, Barton, on Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m. A funeral service will be conducted at the Boal Chapel on Friday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Homer Beeman officiating.

Interment will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery, Moscow Mills.
