Charles Oller was born in Greenwood Township, Christian County, Illinois a son of George Oller and Sarah Elizabeth Carman Oller. He married Sada Viola Weathers December 27, 1908. Charles Registered for the Draft for World War I on the 12th of September, 1918 at the same time as his brothers, Dave, Robert and John. His draft card stated that Charles was 37 years old, tall, of medium build and had brown hair. He was living in Nokomis and was working as a farmer for Albert Schneider.
Charles and Sadie had four sons in World War II of which one, Everett (Jake) Oller was killed in Europe.

Charles Oller, Sr. Dies in Palmer

Charles Oller, Sr., 83, of Palmer died at 10:55 a.m. Tuesday at the home of his son in Palmer.

Services were held Thursday afternoon at Connolly Funeral home in Taylorville with burial in Elmwood cemetery at Litchfield.

He is survived by four sons, Floyd of Litchfield, Vern of Morrisonville, Charles Jr., of Des Moines, Iowa, Warren of Palmer; six daughters, Mrs. Edith Skinner, Mrs. Harold Skinner, both of Morrisonville, Mrs. Oscar Curtis of Bloomington, Ind., Mrs. Lee Duncan of Fruitport, Mich., Mrs. Gerald List of Rockford, Mrs. Ted Meier of Litchfield; one brother, John, of Kilbourne; one sister, Mrs. Etta Walcher of Litchfield, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
