Betty Jean (Oller) Rice List Zierfuss, 80, of Machesney Park died Friday, Sept. 19, 2008, at her home.

Mrs. Zierfuss was born Feb. 1, 1928, at Morrisonville, daughter of the late Charles and Sadie (Weathers) Oller. She was employed at Barber Colman (Rock Street) until 1975 and was a certified nurses assistant at Litchfield Health Care from 1975 to 1977. She then worked for River Bluff Nursing Home until 1992 and retired from Fairhaven Christian Home on Feb. 1, 2003, at the age of 75. She enjoyed her work very much.

She was married to Loy Rice, Jr., from Oct. 31, 1945, to Feb. 16, 1953. She married Gerald List on June 15, 1957, and he died Sept. 2, 1975. Her final marriage was to Robert Zierfuss on April 16, 1977, and he survives.

Mrs. Zierfuss leaves one son, Loy (wife Sandra) Rice of Loves Park; two daughters, Betty Rice of Ada, OK, and Angela List of Machesney Park; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; one sister, Barbara (husband Bobbie) Meier of Hendersonville, TN; and stepchildren, Evelyn (husband Ken) Fletcher, Mike List, Mark List and Pamela (husband Ron) Harrison.

Also surviving Mrs. Zierfuss are step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; and several brothers-in-law.

Preceding her in death were an infant daughter, Paula Rice; infant son, Jerry Wayne List; brothers, Everett "Jake," Floyd, Warren "Bud," Charles and Vernon "Sam" Oller; sisters, Edith Skinner, Opal Curtis, Ruth Skinner and Geraldine Duncan; and a set of twin infant siblings.

Funeral Information
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 25, at Plummer Funeral Home,
Litchfield, with burial at Elm Lawn Cemetery, Litchfield.

Friends may call Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Delehanty Funeral Home in Loves Park and from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Plummer Funeral Home. Memorials may be directed to Northern Illinois Hospice.
