Two of George's brothers went to Kansas in the 1870's to homestead so George and Sarah took their family there by covered wagon in the early 1880's. After a few years they returned to Christian County, Illinois where they farmed until their retirement. They are buried in Antioch Cemetery near the front of the cemetery on the south side.
