Hays -- Alex S. Leiker, 90, died Thursday, Oct. 24, 1991 at Hays Medical Center, Hadley. He was born March 20, 1901 at Munjor, the son Carl and Rose Engel Leiker.

A lifetime resident of the Hays area, he was a retired farmer and carpenter. He was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hays.

On Aug. 22, 1933 he married Victorine Suppes at Munjor. She died in 1986.

Survivors include three sons, Sylvester, Donald, both of Hays, Vernon of Roeland Park; four brothers, Henry S., Eddie, Carl S., all of Hays, Victor C. of Highland Park, N.J.; four sisters, Philomena Pfannenstiel, Cecilia Gross, Celestine Kryzer, Mary Leiker, all of Hays; 10 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hays, with Father Matthew Gross presiding. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. today, with parish wake service at 8 p.m. at Hays Memorial Chapel.
