Hays -- Cecilia Gross, 93, Hays, died Sunday, Jan. 21, 2001, at St. John's of Hays Nursing Home. Mrs. Gross was born Cecilia Leiker on Oct. 1, 1907, at Munjor.

She was a homemaker and a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church and Daughters of Isabella, both of Hays.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alois, in 1992; a daughter, Verna Mae Jacobs; and a granddaughter.

Survivors include a son, Wilbert of Munjor; a daughter, Wenita Gottschalk of Hays; a brother, Henry Leiker of Hays; a sister, Mary Leiker of Hays; 21 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, the Rev. Don Zimmerman officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Hays. A Daughters of Isabella rosary will be at 6:30 p.m. followed by a parish vigil at 7 p.m. today at Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, 20th and Pine, Hays 67601.

Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today and 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
