Three of Celestine & Minnie's children died tragically:
- Agnes was fatally burned at the age of four.
- Theresa died at the age of 14 in a car accident. Terence was also injured in this accident.
- Terence died at the age of 25 in a car accident on the same road Theresa was killed on. His death was exactly ten years after Theresa's death.

Philomena Pfannenstiel, 85, homemaker, died Friday, Jan. 6, 1995. Service 10 a.m. Tuesday, Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, rosaries 7 and 8 p.m. Monday, vigil service 7:30 p.m. Monday, all at Hays Memorial Chapel.

Survivors: husband, C.A.; sons, Lester of Pittsburg, Texas; Norbert of Salina; Harvey of Westminster, Colo., Clifford of Hays; daughters, Esther Wasinger of Hays, Louise Dechant of Liebenthal, Marie Gabel, Rosie Werth, Charlene Werth, Sandy Keil, all of Hays; brothers, Edward Leiker, Henry Leiker, Carl Leiker, all of Hays, Victor Leiker of Atlantic Heights, N.J.; sisters, Celestina Kryzer, Cecilia Gross, Mary Leiker, all of Hays; 36 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren.

Memorials have been established with Antonino Cemetery Association of Antonino, and Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church of Hays.
