Adeline Klaus, 82, 506 E. 20th, died today in Hays. She was born June 4, 1902 at Munjor to Carl S. and Rosa (Engel) Leiker.


She married Alex W. Klaus on June 12, 1923. He died Oct. 1, 1974.


She was a member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church and Christian Mothers.


Survivors include two sons, Walter and Joseph, both of Hays; four daughters, Ruby Binder, Velma Pfannenstiel and Lillian Schlyer, all of Hays, and Violet Mermis of Salina; five brothers, Alex Leiker, Henry Leiker, Carl Leiker and Edward Leiker, all of Hays, and Victor Leiker of Atlantic Highland, N.J.; five sisters, Pauline Klaus, Minnie Pfannenstiel, Cecelia Gross, Celestina Kryzer, and Mary Leiker, all of Hays; 21 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.


Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, with Father Albert Dwyer officiating; burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. [Service details omitted].


Memorial has been established with Thomas More Prep-Marion High School, Hays. Hays Memorial Chapel.
