Florence "Maxine" Anderson, 86, Waterville, died Tuesday, December 2, 2003, at the Blue Valley Nursing Home, Blue Rapids.
A funeral was Friday, Dec. 5, at the United Methodist Church in Waterville with the Rev. Rick Glowacki officiating. Jeri Bourne was organist and accompanied Jim and Kim Oatney who sang "One Day at a Time," "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Peace in the Valley"
Pallbearers were Toby Oatney, Brent Plegge, Bob Anderson, TJ Worthington, Ted Wilder, Dan Wilder, Cole Cassity and John Link. Honorary bearers were her granddaughters.
Burial was at Riverside Cemetery, Waterville.
Maxine Anderson was born Oct. 6, 1917, to Frank W. and Anna E. (McCauley) Heath at their home in
Frankfort. She attended the Enterprise Community School.
On. Oct. 6, 1938, she married Otis A. Anderson at Seneca. She was a homemaker and a member of the Waterville United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by both parents, her husband Otis in 1983 and a great-granddaughter, Marandy Lea Wilder; six brothers, Charles, Ben, George, Gene, Algern and Laurel; three sisters, Irene Cobb, Maybelle Hope and Elizabeth White; and a son-in-law, Allen Oatney.
Survisors include three sons, James Anderson and Dean Anderson, both of Topeka, and Ralph Anderson, Auburn; five daughters, Hazel Worthington, St. Marys, Ruth Neal, Waterville, Maxine Plegge, Marysville, Marline Rowland and Gayle Link, both of Clay Center; a sister, Annie Manges, Linn; 19 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
