J. Algern Heath, 88, Marysville, died Saturday, July 14, 2001, at Cambridge Place.

Services were at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 17, from the Kinsley Chapel. Officiants were the Rev. Loren Mohler and the Rev. John Albers.

Aaron and Matt Gee sang "When We All Get to Heaven" and "There's Room at the Cross for You." Ruth Ann Gee was the organist.

Pallbearers were Lawrence Heath, Raymond Heath, Lance Heath, Scott Vanarsdall, Lloyd Heath and Chad Heath.

Burial was in the Summerfield Cemetery with arrangements by Kinsley.

A memorial fund has been established in his name and will be designated later.

Contirbutions may be left at the Kinsley Mortuary.

He was born Nov. 19, 1912, at Holton, the son of Frank and Anna (McCauley) Heath.

He married Elsie Katherine Murry Oct. 11, 1942, at Summerfield Presbyterian Church. They were parents of two sons and three daughters.

He farmed north of Summerfield till moving to Marysville in 1977. He worked as a custodian for USD 364 and First Christian Church.

He was a member of the Winifred Baptist Church, the Lions Club in Summerfield and the Kiwanis Club in Marysville.

Preceding him in death were two daughters, Charlene and Lisa Marie Heath; two grandsons, Brandon and Ryan Miller; brothers George, Gene, Laurel, Charles and Ben Heath; and sisters Irene, Maybelle and Elizabeth.

Survivors are his wife, Elsie Heath of the home; two sons, Lynn A. Heath, Wichita, and Paul J. Heath, Burchard, Neb.; a daughter, Elaine K. Miller, Pickrell, Neb.; two sisters, Maxine Anderson, Waterville, and Annie Manges, Clay Center; eight grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
