Richard 'Dean' Anderson, age 67, formerly of Waterville, Kansas, passed away at his home in Topeka, Kansas, on Monday, October 2, 2017.

Dean was born May 6, 1950, in Randolph, Kansas, to Otis A. and Florence M. (Heath) Anderson. He attended Valley Heights High School, graduating in 1969. He had worked for the railroad and building fence. He enjoyed fishing and horses.

Dean was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by two brothers; James (Jeris) Anderson of Ozawkie, Kansas, and Ralph (Susan) Anderson of Auburn, Kansas, five sisters; Hazel (Jim) Worthington of Saint Marys, Kansas, Ruth (Leroy) Neal of Greenleaf, Kansas, Maxine (Larry) Plegge of Marysville, Kansas, Marline Rowland of Clay Center, Kansas, and Gayle (Dean) Link of Clay Center. Dean is also survived by many nieces and nephews that he adored.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 am on Friday, October 6, 2017, at the Waterville United Methodist Church with Pastor Debby Dick officiating. Music is to include hymns of “The Old Rugged Cross”, “One Day At Time”, “Amazing Grace” and “I Am But A Stranger Here” played by organist Beverly Hedke. Casket Bearers are Ted Wilder, Tobby Oatney, Jeff Wilder, TJ Worthington, Brent Plegge, Bob Anderson and John Link. Burial is at Riverside Cemetery in Waterville.

Memorials are suggested to Great Lakes Caring Hospice of Topeka or the charity of the donor’s choice in Dean’s name. Memorials may be sent in care of the funeral home at P.O. Box 61, Waterville, Kansas 66548.
