MRS. HAROLD HOPE DIES
Funeral Tuesday for Young Mother of Four at Vermillion:
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at Vermillion for Mrs. Harold Hope, aged 33 years, who died Sunday evening at her home after a short illness. Burial was in the Vermillion cemetery.
Surviving, besides her husband, are three daughters, Dorothy Jean, Annabelle, and Caroline; one son, Harold Max, all of the home; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. F.W. Heath, Vermillion; four sisters, Mrs. Clarence White, Vliets, Kansas, Mrs. David Manges, Westmoreland, Mrs. Otis Anderson, Vermillion, and Mrs. Irene Cobb, Fulton, S.D.; and six brothers, Charles Heath, Kimball, S.D., Benjamin and Algern Heath, Alta, Iowa, Gene Heath, Topeka, George Heath, Westmoreland, and Laurel Heath, Vermillion.

Mayme Belle (Heath) Hope was born on a farm near Circleville, Jackson county, Kansas, on March 8, 1906, and passed away after an illness of four days, at her home near Vermillion, Kansas, at 10:00 o'clock P.M. January 14, 1940, at the age of 33 years, ten months and six days.
She was the fifth child of Annie E. and Frank W. Heath of Vermillion. When she was seven years of age, she moved with her parents, to a farm four miles southwest of Vermillion, and has resided in or near here ever since.
On February 16, 1927, she was united in marriage to Harold E. Hope. To this union five children were born, Dorothy Jean, AnnaBelle Lee, Caroline Irene, Harold Max and Lonnie Gail, all are living except the latter, who passed away at birth.
On January 10, 1940, Lonnie Gail was born, and with other complications which she could not overcome, she passed to her reward.
She was a loving wife and mother, and will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
Besides her husband, four children and parents, she leaves to mourn her passing, six brothers and four sisters: Irene Cobb, of Fulton, South Dakota; Charles of Kimball, South Dakota; George of Westmoreland, Kansas; Ben of Alta, Iowa; Eugene of Topeka, Kansas; Elizabeth White of Vliets, Kansas; Algern of Alta, Iowa; Laurel of Vermillion, Maxine Anderson of Vermillion; and Annie Manges of Westmoreland, Kansas. A grandmother, Mrs. George Heath of Junction City, Kansas, also several aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of other realtives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted from the Methodist Church in Vermillion, Tuesday afternoon, Rev. H. M. Sanders officiating and burial was made in the Vermillion Cemetery.
