Mrs. Baker was born on Thursday, 30 June 1904, to Charles Robert Dodson and Wilhelmina M. Smith Dodson, in Poolville, Parker County, Texas. She was the third child of eleven children born to this union.

She was united in marriage to James Roland Baker on Wednesday, 01 June 1932. Mr. Baker preceded Myrtle Lee in death on Tuesday, 13 July 1965. They were married 33 years. To their union were born six children: son Warren Baker, son Bobbie Roland Baker, daughter Mildred Baker, daughter Naomi Pauline Baker, son Roger Baker, and daughter Betty Ann Baker.

Myrtle Lee was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, infant daughter Betty Ann Baker, sister Birdie Mae Dodson, brother Charles Hester Dodson, brother Robert Lester Dodson, brother George William Dodson, sister Pearly Bell Dodson, sister Naomi Dodson, brother Roy Woodrow Dodson, and brother Jack D. Dodson.

Mrs. Baker is survived by son Warren Baker, son Bobbie Roland Baker, daughter Mildred Baker, daughter Naomi Pauline Baker, son Roger Baker, and brother Chancy Ray Dodson.

Interment occurred at Shamrock Cemetery of Shamrock, Wheeler County, Texas.
