Wilhelmina "Willie" Smith Dodson passed away at 3:00 PM Monday, 09 March 1953, from complications resulting from a stroke. She was 72.

Willie was born on Friday, 07 May 1880, to Chauncey Graham Smith and Margaret Ann Kirkes Smith, in Parker County, Texas. She was the seventh of twelve children born to this union.

She was united in marriage to Charles Robert Dodson on Monday, 10 December 1902, in Peaster, Parker County, Texas. To their union were born eleven children: daughter Birdie Mae Dodson, son Charles Hester Dodson, daughter Myrtle Lee Dodson, son Robert Lester Dodson, son George William Dodson, daughter Pearly Bell Dodson, daughter Naomi Ruth Dodson, son Roy Woodrow Dodson, son Chancy Ray Dodson, daughter Ila Ruth Dodson, and son Jack D. "JD" Dodson.

Mr. and Mrs. Dodson celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Wednesday, 10 December 1952. They made their home in Peaster, Parker County, Texas for 42 years.

The couple moved to Dallas, Dallas County, Texas in 1945 and to Shamrock, Wheeler County, Texas in 1952. Willie was a lifelong member of the Baptist Church.

Willie was preceded in death by her parents, sister Elizabeth Smith Stevens, sister Susan Smith Adams Stevens, step-brother James Thomas Adams, sister Margaret Ann Smith Jones, brother George Smith, sister Charity "Chellie" Smith Blackerby, brother Chauncey Graham Smith, Jr., and sister Minerva Maye Smith McCarty,

Survivors include her husband, daughter Birdia Mae Dodson Braxton of Shamrock, daughter Myrtle Lee Dodson Baker of Shamrock, daughter Pearly Bell Dodson of Shamrock, daughter Naomi Ruth Dodson Moore of Kermit, Winkler County, Texas, daughter Ila Ruth Dodson Schlapack of Lorain, Lorain County, Ohio, son Charles Dodson of Twitty, Wheeler County, Texas, son George William Dodson of Twitty, son Robert Lester Dodson of Kilgore, Gregg County, Texas, son Roy Woodrow Dodson of Alice, Jim Wells County, Texas, son Chauncy Ray Dodson of Dallas, Dallas County, Texas, son Jack D. "JD" Dodson of Dallas, brother Jones Smith, sister Effie Lee Smith McKinnon, brother William Alexander Smith, Sr., ten 10 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

Interment occurred at Shamrock Cemetery of Shamrock, Wheeler County, Texas.
