Betty Ann Baker, of Twitty, Wheeler County, Texas, passed away at 5:20 AM on Friday, 03 March 1939, at a Shamrock hospital after a two week battle with intestinal influenza. She was 11 months old.
The young MIss Baker was born on Thursday, 10 March 1938, to James Roland Baker and Myrtle Lee Dodson Baker in Twitty. She was the last of six children born to this union, and the first Baker child to pass.
She was preceded in death by paternal grandfather Daniel Monroe Baker.
Betty is survived by her parents, paternal grandmother Mary Elizabeth Morris Baker, maternal grandfather Charles Robert Dodson, maternal grandmother Wilhelmina M Smith Dodson, brother Bobbie Roland Baker, and sister Naomi Pauline Baker.
Funeral services were conducted in the afternoon of Friday, 03 March 1939, at Twitty Baptist Church with Reverend Shelby Sanders officiating. Pallbearers were J. M. Tindall, Dick Gierhart, Lee Wilingham, and Lester Keyes. Flower attendants were Inez Gierhart, Opal Hilderbrand, Joy Williams, Glenda V. Hefley, and Dolly Sherwood.
Interment occurred at Shamrock Cemetery of Shamrock, Wheeler County, Texas.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care of Clay Funeral Home of Shamrock, Wheeler County, Texas.
