Birdia Mae Dodson Braxton, of 1001 South Main Street, Shamrock, Wheeler County, Texas, passed away on Monday, 22 September 1969, at 9:00 AM, at Shamrock General Hospital of Shamrock. Mrs. Braxton had been ill for some years, and contracted pneumonia shortly before her passing. She was 69.

Mrs. Braxton was born on Wednesday, 19 September 1900, to Charles Robert Dodson and Wilhelmina M. Smith Dodson, in Peaster, Parker County, Texas. She was the first of eleven children born to this union, and the first Dodson child to pass.

She was united in marriage to George Lacy Braxton on Saturday, 20 July 1918, in Parker County, Texas. Mr. Braxton survives Birdia. They were married 51 years. To their union were born three children: son Lloyd Tolbert Braxton, daughter Nova Lorene Braxton, and daughter Bonnie Lee Braxton.

Birdie Mae was preceded in death by her parents, and daughter Bonnie Lee Braxton.

She is survived by her husband, of the home, son Lloyd Tolbert Braxton, daughter Nova Lorene Braxton, brother Charles Hester Dodson, sister Myrtle Lee Dodson, brother Robert Lester Dodson, brother George William Dodson, sister Pearly Bell Dodson, sister Naomi Dodson, brother Chancy Ray Dodson, brother Roy Woodrow Dodson, sister Ila Ruth Dodson, and brother Jack D. Dodson.

Interment occurred at Shamrock Cemetery of Shamrock.
