Lillie Snyder Evans was born in Spring Creek, Summit County, Utah in 1866, the first child of George G. Snyder and his 6th wife, Rhoda Orchard Snyder. She was the first of seven children born to George and Rhoda. She was 21 years old when her father died in Park City in 1887. She had married Edward Parley Evans in 1885 and they had thirteen children. Adjacent to Lillie and Edward in the cemetery are the tiny headstones of eight of their children who died as babies or young children. They lived almost their entire lives in Utah, except for a few years in Northern California, including during the earthquake that devestated San Francisco in 1906. Five of their children grew to adulthood. Edward died in 1933. Lillie lived until 1938 when at the age of 72 yrs., she was riding in a car in Heber City, Utah and a gravel truck collided with her car and she was fatally injured. She was buried next to Edward and all of her children in the older section of the Park City cemetery known as the Snyder section.
