Mrs. Vera Esther Oller, 69, of 211 Thomas St., Roxana, the mother of 12 children, 11 of whom are living, died Friday following an illness of several years. She was pronounced dead at Wood River Township Hospital at 2:20 p.m.
Mrs. Oller was the widow of Henry Oller who died in April of 1964.
She was born April 9, 1895, at Witt, Montgomery County, Illinois, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Millard Fillmore Nussman.
Mrs. Oller had lived at Morrisonville before coming to Roxana 11 years ago.
Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Vera Lawrence, Roxana; Mrs. Jean Carson and Mrs. Peggy Buehlman, Alton; Mrs. Mary Wheelan, Gary, Indiana, and Mrs. Shirley Brangenberg, Charlotte, Michigan and six sons: Willis, Morrisonville; Oscar, Wood River; Henry, Karl and Robert, Roxana, and Jack, South Roxana; a sister Mrs. Vern Ford, Rosewood Heights; two brothers, Scott Nussman, Gillespie and Everett, Morrisonville; 20 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
The body is at Marks Mortuary where friends may call after 7 p.m. today and until 11 a.m. Monday.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 1:30 p.m. in First Presbyterian Church, Roxana, with the Rev. William Rice officiating. Burial will be in Valhalla Memorial Park.
