Alvera Evelyn Lawrence, 63, city treasurer for the City of Roxana, died at 1:10 a.m. today at St. Joseph's Hospital.
Born in Morrisonville, a daughter of the late Henry and Vera (Nussman) Oller, she married J.Clyde Lawrence on March 17, 1940. He died May 19, 1964.
Surviving are a son, Eugene of Wood River: a daughter, Gay Josse of Edwardsville; three grandchildren; five brothers, Oscar Oller of Wood River, Bob Oller of Alton, and Henry, Karl and Jack Oller, all of Roxana; and three sisters, Shirley Brangenburg of Charlotte, Michigan, Mary Wheelan of Gary, Indiana and Peggy Buehlman of Alton.
Visitation will be after 7 p.m. Wednesday at Marks Mortuary.
At 8:30 a.m. Thursday, the boy will be moved to the First Presbyterian Church of Roxana, where services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev Harris Schultz officiating.
Burial will be in Rose Lawn Memory Gardens and the church has been named as a memorial.
Note: Sis was very outgoing and always the life of the party.
She was a fun person to be around. Her nieces and nephews always enjoyed seeing her. She died after a long battle with Cancer.
