Oscar Eugene Oller Obituary published in the Alton Telegraph July, 2003

Oscar E. Oller, 85, died at 11:20 a.m. Friday, July 25, 2003, at Alton Memorial Hospital.

He was born August 15, 1917, in Witt, Illinois, to Henry and Vera Esther (Nussman) Oller.

He married the former Lois W. Miller on September 10, 1940 in St. Charles, Mo. She survives.

A millwright at Alton Boxboard for 38 years, he retired in 1976.

He was a member of the Wood River Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2859, Wood River American Legion and Wood River Moose Lodge 1349. The World War II Army veteran received the Bronze Star.

In addition to his wife, surviving are two sisters, Peg Scherff of Bethalto and Shirley Brangenberg of Charlotte, Michigan; two brothers, Robert "Bob" Oller of Alton and Karl Oller of Roxana; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, preceding him in death were four brothers, Willis, Donald, Henry and Jack Oller, and three sisters, Imogene Carson, Alvera Lawrence and Mary Wheelan.

Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Marks Mortuary in Wood River, where funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday.

Burial will follow at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey.
