A former Nokomis-Witt area resident and Irving native, Everett D. Nussman, 78, of Roxana, died Thursday, New Year's Day, at 5:10 P.M. at St. Joseph hospital in Alton.
The remains were removed to Stiehl-Dawson funeral home in Nokomis, where services were conducted Saturday afternoon. Burial was in Oak Grove cemetery in Hillsboro.
He was a son of Millard Fillmore and Harriett Elizabeth "Hattie" Jennings Nussman.He married Lavona Smith in 1914.
Surviving are his wife; sons, Everett of East Alton; Ellahan of Peoria; daughter, Mrs. Jessie [Bertha] Eckhoff of Putnam; sister, Grace Ford of Rosewood Heights; 7 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren.
