Harriet was the daughter of Preston Jennings and Elizabeth Shepherd Jennings from Russell County, Kentucky.
Harriet Elizabeth "Hattie" Jennings married Millard Fillmore Nussman October 10, 1878 in Hillsboro, Illinois. She and Millard were the parents of 12 children of which 6 died as infants. Two of their daughters, Grace (wife of Vern Ford) and Claudia (wife of Ivan Fox) and their husbands are also buried in Witt Cemetery.

Hattie died at the age of 67. She was described by her grandchildren as a loving and kissing Grandma who loved her family.

WITT RESIDENT DIES

Mrs. Millard Nussman nee Hattie Elizabeth Jennings died at the home of her daughter Mrs. Vern Ford at Alton, February 8, at 5:30 p.m.

Mrs. Nussman was born August 24, 1859 in Missouri. She was the daughter of Mrs. Preston Jennings. At the age of nineteen years she was united in marriage to Millard Nussman in Rountree Township.

Her husband and the following children survive Mrs. Grace Ford and Mrs. Pearl Reardon of Alton, Mrs. Claude Fox and Mrs. Vera Oller of Nokomis, Scott of Gillespie and Everett of Morrisonville.

She is also survived by one sister Mary Cook, Kansas, and two half sisters, Mrs. Tom Coffey of Irving and Kate Knight of Kansas and fourteen grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held from the home Friday afternoon at two o'clock, Rev. G. E. Mayo officiating. Interment will be held in the Witt Cemetery
