SANDYVILLE - Pearl Otto Sheppard, 79, of Sandyville, Jackson County, died Friday in Jackson General Hospital.

He was a retired farmer.

Surviving; wife Almeda; sons Dale and Harlan, both of Parkersburg, Brooks of Ranvenswood; daughters, Mrs. Freda Hudson and Mrs. Kathleen Burchard, both of Ripley, Mrs. Opal Williams of Richmondale Ohio, Mrs. Beulah Whaley of Man, Mrs. Nina Ruth Pursley of Sandyville; brother Arlie of Rockport; sisters, Mrs. Nora Gilmore of Pomeroy, Ohio, Mrs. Ora Nohe of Belleville, Mrs. Hazel Goodwin, Mrs. Lorene Balderson and Mrs. Merle Jacobs, all of Parkersburg; 29 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.

Service will 2 p.m. Monday in Vail Funeral Home, Ripley with the Rev. Vairl Winter and the Rev. Junior Conger officiating. Burial will be Jackson memory Gardens. Friends may call after 2 p.m. today.

RIPLEY - Pearl Otto Shepard, 79, of Sandyville, died Friday at Jackson General Hospital after a short illness.

He was born in Jackson County, son of the late James M and Mattie Skinner Shepard and was a retired farmer.

Survivors include his wife, Almeda Shepard, three sons, Dale and Harlan, both of Parkersburg, and Brooks of Ravenswood, five daughters, Freda Hudson and Kathleen Burchard, both of Ripley, Opal Williams of Richmondale, O., Beulah Whaley of Mann, and Nina Ruth Pursley of Sandyville; one brother, Arlie Shepard of Rockport, five sisters, Nora Gilmore of Pomeroy, O., Ora Nohe of Belleville, Hazel Goodwin, Lorene Balderson, and Merle Jacobs, all of Parkersburg; 29 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m.Monday at Vail Funeral Home, with the Rev. Vairl Winter and the Rev. Junior Conger officiating. Burial will be in Jackson Memory Gardens.

Friends may call after 2 p.m. today at the funeral home.
