Gilbert R. Shepard

Gilbert R. Shepard, 52, of Camden Av., died at the Alderson Broaddus Hospital, Philippi, at 7:30 p.m. Monday.

He was born in Jackson county, Feb. 14, 1911, son of James M. and Martha Skinner Shepard.

He had lived 35 years in Parkersburg, and had been employed as a machine operator at the O. Ames Co. for 24 years. He was a member of the Gates Ridge EUB Church.

Survivors include one sone, Gilbert Shepard, Jr., at home, four daughters, Mrs. Maxine Griffin, Miami, Fla., Miss Eula, Miss Rebecca, and Miss Bonnie Louise Shepard, all at home.

Two brothers, Pears Shepard, Sandyville, and Arlie Shepard, Rockport; five sisters, Mrs. Nora Gilmore, Pomeroy, O., Mrs. Ora Nohe, Bellville, Mrs. Merle Jackobe, Pomeroy, Mrs. Hazel Goodwin and Mrs. Lorena Balderson, both of Parkersburg; and two grandchildren also survivie.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.

The body has been removed to the Leavitt funeral home, where friends may call. Arrangements are incomplete.
