She was born in Jackson County, a daughter of the late James M. and Mattie Skinner Shepard. She was a retired cook at Parkersburg High School, and a Methodist.
She is survived by her husband, Hairl B. Balderson; a daughter, Karen Asbury of Vienna; a brother, Arley Shepard of Rockport; and four sisters, Nora Gilmore of Pomeroy, Ohio, Ora Nohe of Belleville and Hazel Goodwin and Merle Jacobs, both of Parkersburg and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.
Services will be conducted Thursday, 1 p.m., at the Leavitt Funeral Home with the Rev. Hayward Gribble officiating. Burial will be in the IOOF Cemetery.
Friends may call today, after 3 p.m., at the funeral home.
