Almeda Ellen Sheppard, 91, of Evans, died Thursday at the home of a daughter after a long illness.
She was a member of Shepherd Chapel Methodist Church and a former schoolteacher.
Survivors include her two sons, Brooks of Ravenswood, Harlan of Parkersburg; five daughters, Freda Hudson of Evans, Kathleen Burchard of Ripley, Opal Detty of Chillicothe, OH, Beulah Whaley of Manassas, VA, Nina Pursley of Sandyville; 29 grandchildren, and 35 great-grandchildren.
Services are to be today (Saturday) at Vail Funeral Home, Ripley, with the Rev. Lawrence Conger, Jr. officiating. Burial is to be at Jackson Memory Gardens
