Catherine "Kitty" Eckler was born to Henry & Margaret Keiser Eckler in Pine Grove, PA. Her siblings were infant sisters - Elizabeth & Margaretha, also Hannah (John Spancake), John Franklin (Elizabeth "Eliza" Ney) Maria Anna (Daniel Umbenhauer)(Benjamin Frederick), Mary Margaret "Polly" (?Rush)(Valentine Ferst), Barbara Ann (John Null), George (Catherine McAllister), Lydia "Liddie" (Adam Miller)(William Knapp), Ellen "Ella" (Hiram Miller), Elizabeth "Eliza" (John Mahlon Miller), Susanna (Died at 3yrs), Henry,Jr (Died at 20yrs - Typhoid -Contracted in Civil War). Catherine operated a Rooming House in Pine Grove. She married Casper Kissawetter about 1865. They adopted a young boy by the name of John/George McDonough - later changing his name to John Henry Kissawetter. Casper was a carpenter - helping to build the Suedberg Church - "Kitty" passed away at the County Hospital in Schuylkill Haven at the age of 89yrs 9mos 3dys.
