Henry Jr. served in the Civil War (Pennsylvania Sharp Shooters, Company B 96th Pennsylvania Infantry. He enrolled on 02 Sep 1861, at Pine Grove, Schuylkill Co. for a three-year enlistment. Was mustered in on the 23 Sep 1861. He contracted typhoid fever and was admitted to General Hospital at 5th and Buttonwood St. in Philadelphia on April 18th, 1862 and was sent home to recuperate but died there in the company of his family on the 21 Jun 1862.
He is buried near his parents in St. Peter's Cemetery) to the upper right of the church.
