Margaret Keiser Eckler was born to Philip and Eva Zimmerman Keiser in Pine Grove - at the time - Berks Co.- is now Schuylkill Co., PA. About 1814 - she was wed to Henry Eckler - son of Jacob and Barbara Schrope Eckler. They became the parents of fifteen babies- twelve would survive - namely: Hannah (Johannes Spancake), John Franklin (Eliza Ney), Catherina (Casper Kissawetter), Maria Anna (Daniel Umbenhauer & Benjamin Frederick), Margaret "Polly" (Valentine Ferst), Barbara Ann (John Henry Null), George (Catherine McCallister), Lydia Ann (Adam Miller & Wm. Knapp), Ellen Elmira (Hiram Miller), Elizabeth Eliza (John Mahlon Miller), Susanna (died at 3yrs), Henry Jr. (died at the age of 20 yrs from Typhoid Fever contracted in the Civil War). Henry died in August of 1862 - six weeks after the death of his son. Margaret lived another eighteen years after Henry's death. Find her living with various daughters till her passing at 83 years of age in 1880.
She is buried on a hill above St. Peters Lutheran Church - her stone has been broken off. Husband, Son Henry & daughters Susanna and Margaret "Polly" - are buried close by. Submitted by G G Granddaughter - Anita (Eckler Family) Rodgers

MIFFLIN - June 4, 1880 - Mrs. Margaret "ALCKER" is dangerously ill and but little hope is entertained for her recovery.
DEATHS - Pinegrove Herald - June 11, 1880. ECKLER in SWOPES VALLEY. June 3, 1880, Margaret, Widow of Henry Eckler, aged 83yr 2mo 12dys.
