Lydia A Knapp was born to Henry and Margaret Keiser Eckler in Pine Grove, Schuylkill Co.PA.

Her siblings were: Elizabeth, Hannah "Anna" (John Spancake), Margaretha, John F (Eliza Ney), Catherine "Kitty" (Casper Kissawetter), Maria A (Daniel Umbenhauer & Benjamin Frederick), Mary M "Polly" (Valentine Ferst), Barbara A (John Henry Null/Noll), George (Catherine McAllister), Ella Elmira (Hiram Miller), Elizabeth "Eliza" (John M Miller), Susannah & Henry Jr).

She had a son, Colonel Theodore Newcomer with whom she would remain close.

She was married to Adam Miller and William Knapp.

Lydia passed away on March 19, 1919, in Pine Grove at the age of eighty-seven. She is buried in Outwood Cemetery with Theodore and his family near the old Eckler Homestead.
