Elizabeth "Eliza" Anna Eckler was born to Henry & Margaret Keiser Eckler in Pine Grove, Schuylkill Co. PA the eleventh child of fourteen born to them. (eleven survived). Siblings were Hannah Anna (John Spancake), John Franklin (Elizabeth "Eliza" Ney), Catherine "Kitty" (Casper Kissawetter), Maria Anna (Umbenhauer & Benjamin Frederick), Mary Margaret "Polly" (Valentine Ferst), Barbara Ann (John Null), George Eckler (Catherine McAllister), Lydia "Lidie" Ann (Adam Miller & Wm. Knapp), Ellen "Ella" Elmira (Hiram Miller), Susanna (died at 13yrs) and Pvt. Henry Eckler, died at 20yrs of Typhoid - Contracted during the Civil War.

"Eliza" was the mother of Sylvester Bahney, born in Pine Grove, PA. Eliza married John Mahlon Miller in Lebanon Co. PA on September 8, 1866. John Mahlon had served in the Civil War, Pvt. in Co. F 93rd Reg. of PA Vol. Infantry. He served for one year. They became the parents of John Henry (1869-1959), Mahlon Michael (Carolyn "Carrie" Buckmoyer), Elizabeth "Lizzie" Jane (William S House), Ellen "Ella" Wilora (Harry Frederick Wagner) & Andrew Wilson Miller (Elizabeth "Eliza" Hazel Woollet).

"Eliza's husband, John Mahlon Miller died in Lebanon Co., PA on 30 Oct 1890. He is interred at Mount Lebanon Cemetery, Lebanon Co. PA. in the Veteran's Section. "Eliza" then moved to South Bend, IN to be near her sisters and her children. She spent her final years with her daughter, Ellen Miller Wagner and then son, Andrew (& wife Eliza Woolet Miller).

Found half-brothers, her sons Sylvester Bahney & Andrew Miller, living next to each other in Berrien Co., Michigan. Son Andrew Wilson Miller along with his wife and son, Howard James Miller, are buried near Eliza. She passed on July 23, 1912, at the age of seventy five yrs.
