Anna Leah Roby, 97, of the Carmel Home, died there Wednesday, March 22, 1989. She was born in Knottsville and was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church. Her husband, Daniel E. Roby, died in 1954. Three sons preceded her in death, Daniel E. Roby Jr. in 1947, and Richard S. Roby and Leon Roby, both in 1971. Survivors include two sons, J.C. ''Sam" Roby and William H. Roby, both of Owensboro; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; a brother, Joseph E. "Buck" Mattingly of Knottsville; five sisters, Helen Abel and Mary Callahan, both of Louisville, Kate Dishman of Detroit, MI, Pauline Aull and Nannie Mae Higdon, both of Owensboro; and several nieces and nephews. Services are at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Pius X Catholic Church. Burial in Mater Dolorosa Cemetery. Visitation after 11 a.m. Friday at Glenn Funeral Home, where prayers will be said at 5:30 p.m. Friday. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Carmel Home, 2501 Old Hartford Road, Owensboro. Memorial envelopes are available at the funeral home.
