She was born July 21, 1903, in Mt. Calvary, a daughter of Mathias and Catherine Stephany Abler. One Nov. 13, 1923, she married Anthony B. Fox at Holy Cross Church, Mt. Calvary. Mrs. Ellis had resided at Ellis Street for 66 years. She was a member of St. Joseph's Church, a 55-year member of the church's Catholic Women, and a charter member of Good Shepherd Catholic War Veterans Auxiliary for 52 years.
Survivors include three daughters, Margaret M. Nelson and her husband Roy of Fond du Lac, Zita C. Stinemates of Milwaukee, and Rose Marie Holzmann and her husband Edward of Elkhart Lake; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her husband in Sept. 1970; one son, Bernard; nine brothers; and one sister.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, and at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church. The Rev. Julio Miralbes will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday from 5 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home where a parish vigil will be held at 8 p.m.
