Anton A. Abler, 78, of Rudolph, formerly of Mt. Calvary, died at 5 p.m. Sunday at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield. Born on Oct. 20, 1897, at Mt. Calvary, he was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Mathias Abler.
On Jan. 6, 1920, he married Alice Blonien at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, St. Joe, and the couple celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary in January 1975.
Mr. Abler was a cheese maker and operated a cheese factory at Rudolph for 20 years, and was later employed by the Rudolph Feed Mill, retiring in 1963.
Survivors include his widow; a daughter, Mrs. Alberta Schindweiler of Wisconsin Rapids; three grandchildren; a great-grandchild; two sisters, Mrs. Germaine Walber and Mrs. Marie Fox both of Fond du Lac; and a brother, Benedict of Wisconsin Rapids. Seven brothers preceded him in death. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Ritchay Funeral Home, 240 First Ave. S., Wisconsin Rapids, and at 11 a.m. at St. Philip's Catholic Church, Rudolph. Burial will be in a Rudolph Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
