Funeral services for Benedict Abler, 76, of 1110 Washington St., Wisconsin Rapids, a native of Mt. Calvary, were held at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Wisconsin Rapids. He died Wednesday in his sleep.

Burial was in Rest Park Cemetery, Wisconsin Rapids.
The last of nine Abler Brothers, he was the son of the late Mathias and Catherine Abler. He married Ethel VanAsten at Wisconsin Rapids, and they observed their golden wedding anniversary on Oct. 27, 1976. Mr. Abler was employed by Wisconsin Rapids Paper Mills until retiring.

Survivors include his widow; nine children, many grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Germaine Walbur and Mrs. Marie Fox both of Fond du Lac.
