Herman J Abler, 79, of 2518 W. Wisconsin Ave., Milwaukee, formerly of Mount Calvary, died Sunday at his home of an apparent heart attack.
He was born August 6, 1894 at Mount Calvary. He was a retired employee of the Phoenix Hosiery Co., at Milwaukee and a member of the Holy Name Society, Milwaukee.
Surviving are a son, Paul of Milwaukee; a daughter, Mrs. Joan Farrell of Evansville, Ind.; 10 grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; two brothers, Anton of Rudolph and Ben of Wisconsin Rapids; and two sisters, Mrs. Germaine Walber and Mrs. Marie Fox both of Fond du Lac. His wife preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Schmidt and Bartelt Funerl Home, 5050 W Vliet St. Milwaukee, and at 10 a.m. at St. Michaels Catholic Church, Milwaukee.
Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery in Milwaukee.
