Funeral services will be held at 9:45 a.m. Friday from the residence and at 10 a.m. at Holy Cross church, Mt. Calvary, for Math Abler, 85, who died at 5:15 a.m. Tuesday at his home in the village. The Rev. Cyprian Abler, O.M. Cap., of Milwaukee, a son of Mr. Abler, will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Born Aug. 20, 1860, Mr. Abler was married April 17, 1883 to Catherine Stephany of Johnsburg. Surviving are his widow; 11 children, the Rev. Fr. Abler, of Milwaukee, Philipp Abler of St. Cloud, Henry, Leo and Herman Abler of Milwaukee, Nick Abler and Mrs. Germaine Walber of Mt. Calvary, Anthony of Rudolph, Benedict of Wisconsin Rapids, Mrs. Anthony B. Fox of Fond du Lac and George of Kohler; 44 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Two children died in infancy. The couple celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in June 1932 and their diamond wedding anniversary in April 1943. A sister, Sr. M. Levina of the Notre Dame convent, Chicago, also survives. Mr. Abler was a member of St. Anthony's society of Mt. Calvary.

Solemn services for Math Abler of Mt. Calvary were held at 9:45 a.m. Friday from the residence and at 10 a.m. from Holy Cross church, Mt. Calvary, with burial in the adjoining cemetery. The Rev. Cyprian Abler, O.F.M. Cap., son of Mr. Abler, was celebrant of the mass. The Rev. Philipp Steffes, O.F.M. Cap., of Milwaukee, was deacon, and the Rev. Josaphat Muensing, O.F.M. Cap., was sub-deacon. The Rev. Louis Biersack, O.F.M. Cap., was master of ceremonies.

Mass was sung by the Men's choir, under the direction of Mrs. Marge Huberty. St. Anthony's society attended in a body. Cross bearer was Alphonse Walber. Active pallbearers were Sylvester Abler, Roger Abler, Harold Abler, Vernon Abler, Bernard Fox, and LeRoy Abler, all grandsons of Mr. Abler. Honorary pallbearers were Albert Koenen, Albert Rieden, Anthony Morgan, John Steffes, Nick Weber, Frank Kaiser, Charles Blatz, Leonard Peters, Albert Koenigs, and Edwin Andrew.

Seated in the sanctuary were priests from Milwaukee, Marathon, Appleton and the nearby parishes. Those attending the rites included Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Abler of Rudolph, Wis., Mr. and Mrs. Ben Abler of Wisconsin Rapids, Mr. and Mrs. Leo Abler, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Abler and Mr. and Mrs. Herman Abler of Milwaukee, and others from this and nearby places.
