Icana was 23 years old when he married 23-year old Adeline Corine "Addie" Jones of St. Mary's, daughter of Gaston Jones & Samantha Johnson, on December 1, 1889.
The couple farmed in St. Mary's and would be parents to 5 known children: Winnie Mae (1890-1891), Elliot Sweeney (1892-1951), Fannie Bell (1893-1983), Nancy Lou (1896) and Bonnie Clifton (1902).
Icana died in 1919 at age 53. His wife of 30 years survived him almost 27 years, passing in 1946 at age 79.
There is street named after him in Garner, near the Mount Moriah Cemetery.
