Dr. Ira Call, a former resident of Afton died last Tuesday following a long illness of enlarged heart
After finishing dental school, Ira practiced in Afton and Lovell, Wyo., for several years and was doing fine until his illness several years ago.
He went to California, Florida and back to California but finally succumbed to the disease Tuesday.
He leaves a wife and several children besides his father, A.V. Call and a number of brothers and sisters to mourn his loss
His oldest son, Gregg is now in the service of the U.S.
Ira was 42 years of age last March, and his wife is the daughter of Mr N.P. Lee of Afton
His father A.V. Call and W. L. Call will leave Friday for Santa Monica, Cal. where the body is at present.
We have not been informed just when or where he will be buried, but it is thought he will be buried Monday, either in Afton or Santa Monica.

After an illness due to heart trouble which has extended over a period of several years, Dr. Ira E. Call passed away at a veteran's hospital in California on August 5.
Dr. Ira E. Call was born on March 22, 1899 at Afton, Wyoming, a son of Lucy King and Anson V. Call. He spent his boyhood in Afton and graduated from the Star Valley High School. In 1918 he joined the army and served in the wor4ld war until the armistice was signed. In 1919 he married Lois Lee.
Shortly after their marriage, they went to Chicago where he attended a dental school from which he graduated in 1927. He practiced dentistry in Afton and at Lovell until 1937 at which time his heart trouble became evident. He was sent to Florida and to California for his health and has resided in these two states for the past two years. His illness was started while serving in the army hospital where he contracted rheumatic fever which directly effects the heart muscles.
He finally succumbed in August 5th. During his long illness he was pleasant and never complained.
He was an outstanding man in his profession and leaves many friends and relatives to mourn his loss. He is survived by his wife, Lois Lee Call, one son, Gregary Lee Call, now home on a furlough from the Marine Corps in the Hawaiian Islands, and Misses Marie and Ruth Marlene Call, his father an aged man of 85, six full brothers, Chris, Frank, Fred, roy, George, and Edgar Call, two sisters, Mary Low of cheyenne and Stella Kennington of Afton. He is also survived by 13 half brothers and eight half sisters.
Funeral services were held at Afton at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, August 14 for Dr Ira E. Call, Bp. Franklin R. Gardner conducted. The first musical number was a mixed quartet "Just Why I Suffer Loss" sung by Lucille call, Phyllis Hepworth, Ronald Allred and Ivan Gardner.
Invocation was by Pres. Royal S. Papworth.
The first speaker was Bp. Osborn Low who spoke of his long acquaintance with the family and his high esteem for them.
Vocal solo "Resignation" was sung by Mrs. Jess Lee assisted on the piano by Maurine Anderson.
L.C. Jensen was the next speaker. He spoke of the loyalty that Dr. Call had for his church and nation. He paid tributes to the families of Dr. and Mrs. Call.
Remarks were made by Bp. Franklin R. Gardner.
Vocal solo "Goin Home" was sung by W. Ivan Gardner accompanied on the piano by Wamoth Gardner.
Prayer by George F. Burton.
A tribute to his widespread esteem were the profuse floral tributes. The rostrum and stand were a mass of beautiful flowers. The beautiful casket was draped with the American Flag.
The Legionaries stood at attention as the casket was carried through the lines and the flags were at half mast.
Taps were sounded at the grave by Elden Torbensen when the casket was lowered into the grave.
Comrade A. Dixon Burton dedicated the grave.
