As a pioneer girl, she learned to do many thins, including spinning, making quilt batts, weaving, knitting, dress making, quilting, making soap and candies, cooking and nursing.
She married Alonzo Richard Kennington on Sept 29, 1899 in the Logan Temple. The newly weds moved from Afton to a ranch two miles south of Fairview, on Bitter Creek, where they lived for 53 years.
Ida was always active in the LDS Church. She worked diligently in religion classes, Primary, Sunday School, MIA and Relief Society presidency for 13 years six years as president. Among her virtues was the ability to quote scriptures and to memorize poems.
Her main concerns were always her family and her religion. She always encouraged her children to attend church on Sunday, and taught them the gospel truths.
