On last Tuesday afternoon at two o'clock Alonzo Kennington, Jr., the little eight year-old son of Mr and Mrs Alonzo Kennington of Fairview, passed into eternity.
Little Alonzo was sick but two days, physicians being unable to locate the trouble and after suffering intensely all Sunday night with cramps he became unconscious early Monday morning and remained so until the last.
All that love and skill could do seemed unavailing and death was a ck to his fond and loving parents, as well as numerous relatives and friends. He was an unusually bright and obedient little child, having a kind-hearted disposition and will never be forgotten by his playmates.
Funeral services were held in the Ward meeting house Wednesday, there being a large number of relatives and friends in attendance.
The school attended in a body and it was a most affecting scene when all the little boys placed flowers upon the casket and then sat down with the mourners. Sister Hood sang beautifully, "Let The Little Ones Come Unto Me." Orlando Barrus made consoling remarks and a spirit of peace pervaded all.
Interment was made in the Fairview Cemetery.
The bereaved parents have the sympathy of this entire community.
