MONTICELLO — Funeral services for Mrs. Herbert McElheney, of Monticello, will be held at 4 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of the Jordan Funeral Home. Rev. W.M. Tripp of Newnan will officiate.

Burial will be In West View Cemetery.

Mrs. McElheney, the former Miss Ethel Polk, died early Sunday at the Georgia Baptist Hospital In Atlanta after a brief illness.

Until recent years, Mrs. McElheney was active in community and church affairs in the Gladesville Community near Monticello. She was a member of the Monticello Baptist Church.

She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Hoyt Boykin and Mrs. Waldo Starr, both of Atlanta, and Mrs. Jimmy Simmons of Knoxville Tenn.; one son, Loyd McElheney of Monticello; one sister, Mrs. Irene Smith of Lithonia; four brothers, Grover Polk of Hampton, Julius Polk of Milledgeville, Bob Polk of Vidalia and Carl Polk of Monticello.
