Mr. Polk was a native of Newton County and was a veteran of the Spanish American War.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Jessie McElheney Polk of Monticello; one daughter, Mrs. Evelyn Nelson of Homosassa, Fla.; and five sisters, Mrs. Irene Smith of Lithonia, Mrs. Annie Mae Jump of Macon, and Mrs. Cleo Tyler, Mrs. William Moseley, and Mrs. Zelda Johnson, all of Milledgeville.
