MONTICELLO — Services for Carl Polk, 89, who died Monday in a Monticello hospital after a short illness, will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Jordan Funeral Home.

The Rev. C.A. Keaten will officiate with burial in the Fellowship Cemetery.

Mr. Polk was a native of Newton County and was a veteran of the Spanish American War.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Jessie McElheney Polk of Monticello; one daughter, Mrs. Evelyn Nelson of Homosassa, Fla.; and five sisters, Mrs. Irene Smith of Lithonia, Mrs. Annie Mae Jump of Macon, and Mrs. Cleo Tyler, Mrs. William Moseley, and Mrs. Zelda Johnson, all of Milledgeville.
