Mrs. Johnson was born July 10, 1907, in Jasper County, Ga. Daughter of the late Berry Franklin Polk and Sarah Elizabeth Phillips Polk, Mrs. Johnson formerly lived in Milledgeville, GA and was also a prior resident of Wilkinson County, GA. She was a long-time member of Macedonia Baptist Church and retired from the Youth Development Center in Milledgeville. She was married to Owen Moran Johnson, who preceded her in death on December 12, 1958. A son, Owen M. "Buddy" Johnson, Jr., and several brothers and sisters also preceded her in death.
Survivors include her daughter, Sara Smith, of Milledgeville, and her son and daughter-in-law, Franklin and Faye Johnson, of Cartersville, GA. She is also survived by six grandchildren: Sara Locke, Pittsburgh; Cindy Clance, Macon; J.O. Smith; Milledgeville; Sandy Cooper, Nashville; Wendy Berry, Gainesville; and Frankie Johnson, Cartersville; and ten great-grandchildren: Jordan, Maggie, Jake, Sam, Hannah, Jackson, Emma, Abby, Laura and Lindsey. The family will receive friends Friday evening, March 12th, from 6 to 8 pm at Moores Funeral Home, Milledgeville, GA.
