New Carlisle---Mrs. Ada M. Steele, 86, of the Ohio Missionary Home, New Carlisle, formerly of 6178 Dialton rd., died at 4:05 p.m. Monday in Community Hospital where she had been a patient one week. She had been in failing health for six months.
A resident of the home since Jan. 15, 1972, Mrs. Steele was born in Pike Township, Clark County, Jan. 6, 1891, a daughter of Aaron and Mary Bucher Hoke, and was a life member of the Missionary Church.
Survivors include six sons, Howard, Arthur, Harold, Harley and Wilbert Steele, all of New Carlisle, and the Rev. J. A. Steele of Sidney; two daughters, Mrs. William (Alma) Gracy of New Carlisle and Mrs. Joseph (Thelma) Streber of Springfield; 22 grandchildren; 23 grandchildren; one brother, Jerry Hoke of New Carlisle; one sister, Clara Huffman, New Carlisle and several nieces and nephews.
Her husband, Harry F. Steele, died in 1974.
Her body was taken to the Trostel-Chapman Funeral Home, New Carlisle, where friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Wednesday. Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday in the New Carlisle Missionary Church by the Rev. Ray Smith, assisted by the Rev. Norman Rettig and the Rev. Harland Friend. Her body will lie in state in the church one hour prior to services. Burial will be in New Carlisle Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Missionary Church Memorial Fund or the Ohio Missionary Home.
